REVered - Saturday Hymn - "When We All Get to Heaven"
1898 – Eliza Hewitt wrote this inspiring hymn…that popped into my head sometime during last night and has been running around in there ever since. Overflowing with hope and certainty, this hymn has not surprisingly lost popularity in our earth-addicted (“Your Best Life NOW”) evangelical community. Maybe it will help one of you today. Click on the link with your sound turned up and enjoy this hopeful hymn. When We All Get to Heaven.
Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace.
In the mansions bright and blessèd
He’ll prepare for us a place.
Refrain
When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We’ll sing and shout the victory!
While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.
Refrain
Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.
Refrain
Onward to the prize before us!
Soon His beauty we’ll behold;
Soon the pearly gates will open;
We shall tread the streets of gold.
Refrain
I remember singing this hymn a lot while I was growing up. Apparently the Swedes like it!! :) It always made me smile. Thanks for making me smile today.

Bet I'm not the only one who remembers singing this hymn and having the song leader slow down the ending of the chorus and asking us to "shout" the victory!
