REVolting - Influenza at Our House
“Influenza is a viral infection that affects mainly the nose, throat, bronchi and, occasionally, lungs. Infection usually lasts for about a week, and is characterized by sudden onset of high fever, aching muscles, headache and severe malaise, non-productive cough, sore throat and rhinitis.”

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y!
After a really good week (last week), I had the “sudden onset” on Friday(2/15). Major fever the first two days. Plus, a head-banger headache! Ever since, I’ve been fighting the collateral symptoms. This thing is virulent. Today is the first day I’ve been able to sit up for most of the day.
Of course, this explains the sparse blogging the past week. I still don’t feel like I’m out of the woods, but making minor progress. And for the record, no, I didn’t get a flu shot. Saw on TV that the strain that is hitting many Coloradans wasn’t “covered” by the injections people got here. Go figure.

MHR,
UGH!! Not what I wanted to see on your blog...I can't believe how many people have been affected by these nasty viruses. Fortunately thus far our family has been spared. Bill is the only one in our family who got a flu shot this year...actually, he's the only one that ever gets flu shots. Anyway...he and I will be bearing down in prayer for you.

Hmmm....you were sick, after all. Should have known. Glad you're feeling better though!! The flu, both A and B, has been going around here like crazy too--over 2/3 of the campus is sick with something. It got so bad that as of 2 weeks ago, anyone who went into the health center had to wear a mask, and any appointment for something other than the flu was rescheduled to March. I had a sinus infection and am on my last days of amoxicillin for that (yay) but thankfully I've missed the worst of it so far. Hopefully it will stay that way!
