REVved - 60 YEARS of MARRIAGE

Today – April 3, 2008 – is the 60th Wedding Anniversary of two of the most important people in my life – Don and Margie Nicholson! (My father-in-law and mother-in-law.) They are important for several reasons, but the top two are: 1) They gave me my amazing wife Janice, and 2) They have lovingly demonstrated how “two can become one” for the past 60 years. On the occasion of their 60th Anniversary, I want to honor them. Sadly, logistics didn’t work out for us to be with them on this monumental day, but whether near or far, their amazing love has served as a guiding light on the pathway of my own marriage.
The cultural attack on marriage within our generation is legendary. You’ve heard the sickening comments – “Hey, nobody can stay married to one person for their whole life!” “Humans weren’t intended for monogamy.” “Marriage just doesn’t work.” “We need to redefine marriage.”
Don and Margie have demonstrated loyalty and faithfulness to each other that both honors God and the institution of marriage. In their case, marriage has not only “worked,” it has thrived and prospered! I’ve observed them for over half of their 60 years. Their love for the Lord has been unfailing - and a solid foundation for their love for one another. Their togetherness is a work of art – they have become such a part of each other that neither one is complete without the other. Exactly as God planned it!
Congratulations, Don & Margie! God bless you on your special day. Thank you for the way you’ve loved each other all these years. Your marriage is a model of faithfulness to one another and faithfulness to God, the one who brought you together over 60 years ago! Celebrate!
WOW!! What a milestone for Don and Margie...congratulations to them!! April 3rd is a special day in our family as well...it is my precious dad's birthday. Maybe he is celebrating in heaven with the Lord and all the saints...just a thought :-)

Wow, that's incredible. To be with one person for 60 years, I can't even imagine how tight their bond must be and how deep their love is. Many, many, many congratulations to them!!!
